Adetokunboh Adelaja Kayode is an accomplished public administrator, Human Resource Management professional, and dedicated civil servant with the Lagos State Government. He currently serves as the Legislative Clerk, Apapa Local Government, where he provides administrative, procedural, and technical support to the Legislative Council. With extensive experience in public service, he is committed to promoting organizational excellence, transparency, accountability, and good governance through effective legislative administration and strategic leadership. Adelaja began his educational journey at Jehovah Shalom Primary School, Basua, Somolu, where he studied from 1985 to 1990. He proceeded to Igbobi College, Yaba, for his secondary education between 1991 and 1996. He later obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A. Hons.) in Linguistics/Yoruba from the University of Lagos (UNILAG), where he studied from 2002 to 2007. He is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (ACIPM), reflecting his commitment to professional excellence, continuous learning, and the advancement of human resource management practices. As the Legislative Clerk, Mr. Adelaja is responsible for preparing council agendas, recording proceedings and votes, drafting minutes, managing legislative documents, coordinating council meetings, and maintaining official records. As the custodian of the Council's records, he ensures compliance with legislative rules and procedures while supporting effective law-making, oversight functions, and communication among council members, management, and stakeholders. His work contributes significantly to strengthening transparency, accountability, and effective governance at the grassroots level. His areas of professional expertise include legislative administration, public administration, human resource management, records management, organizational leadership, human relations, talent discovery and development, emotional intelligence, employee training and development, compensation management, and strategic coordination.
